Easy Mini Ribbon Bunting
- 7/8" ribbon in the colors of your choosing (we used 3 colors) Depending on how long you want your bunting to be, a yard should be enough
- yarn
- scissors
- hot glue gun & glue sticks
- lighter
First, start by cutting 2" pieces of your ribbon. We cut 12 pieces, 4 of each color.
Next, fold each piece in half in the long direction and cutting at an angle, starting from the outside cutting upwards towards the center, cut out a triangle from one side of each piece of ribbon. Now heat seal both ends of your ribbon with your lighter so that it does not fray.
Cut your yarn to the desired finished length plus a few inches extra to be able to tie your yarn up for hanging. Decide which order you would like your ribbon pieces to be on your yarn and starting with the first color, wrap the straight side of the ribbon around the yarn about 1/2". Using your hot glue gun, glue the folded ribbon together. Try to avoid glueing too close to your yarn so that you can still adjust the positioning of each piece of ribbon.
Repeat this step with all of your ribbon pieces. Once you have them spaced out the way you like, you have the option to go back and add a dab of glue into the loop of each ribbon piece to adhere them to the yarn so that they no longer shift around.
For the final step, tie your ribbon bunting up and display it proudly! Your friends will be so impressed that you made it yourself!
