Wreath Ribbon Bundle Tutorial

There’s just something magical about a wreath on the front door.  Maybe it’s the first warm “hello” guests see when they arrive, or maybe it's the instant tone they set for the season. Whether you’re dressing up your home for fall, prepping for the holidays, or creating a year-round accent, a wreath ribbon bundle makes it simple to achieve that polished, festive look!

🌻 STEP 1: Gather your Supplies

For this DIY, you will need:

Scissors

Lighter

1 Command Hook and/or Wreath Hanger

1 Wreath of your choosing

1 Zip Tie and 1 Key Ring (our favorite method!)

Optional: Twist Wire or Pipe Cleaners

LOTS of Ribbon! (We recommend using a variety of coordinating textures, designs, colors, and widths)

🧡 STEP 2: Prep your Ribbon

Cut all ribbon strips into equal lengths. For an 18" wreath, we cut ours to be about 50" long. Don't forget to heat-seal the ends of every piece of your ribbon to prevent fraying!

Next, stack your ribbon into one cluster, starting with the widest so that they are at the bottom of the stack.

🍂 STEP 3: Secure your Stack

Now, find the middle of your ribbon cluster!

Zip Tie Method: Grab your zip tie, then take your key ring and slip it onto the zip tie before fastening.

Twist Wire/Pipe Cleaner Method: Wrap the wire/pipe cleaner tightly around the middle a couple of times to fasten.  Then, you can either use another piece of wire/pipe cleaner to attach a key ring, OR to attach the bundle to the wreath itself!

💫 STEP 4: Hang your Ribbon Bundle

One of the best parts of using the key ring method is how simple it makes hanging your wreath. Once your ribbon bundles are secured with a zip tie and key ring, you have a built-in loop that’s ready to go!

Command Hook Method: Place a clear Command Hook on your front door or wall, then hang the key ring and wreath! OR for a sturdier option, hang the bundle onto the command strip and then hang your wreath in place using a wreath hanger!

Twist Wire/Pipe Cleaner Method: If you used wire or pipe cleaners instead of the key ring, you can simply hang your wreath on your door!

🎀 STEP 5: Finish with a Bow!

Now that your ribbon bundle and wreath are secure and hung, you can pick your favorite ribbon strand to tie into a bow! And VOILÀ!

If you want to get even more festive, you can add seasonal touches, like:

Faux pumpkins, leaves, or sunflowers for fall

Pine sprigs, ornaments, or berries for the holidays

Decorated eggs, faux flowers, or faux carrots for Easter

Beads, masks, or feathers for Mardi Gras

And so much more!

For a year-round look, keep your ribbon picks neutral and swap out your small wreath accents seasonally!
